Background
The Infrastructure and Development Bank of Zimbabwe (“IDBZ/the Bank”) is a national Development Finance Institution (DFI) that promotes infrastructure development in various sectors including Water & Sanitation, Housing, Health, Irrigation infrastructure, ICT, Transport, Tourism and Education and Energy. These are key enablers to inclusive socio-economic development and growth. The Bank also supports private sector enterprises, focusing on the infrastructure value chain, agri-businesses, mining and export-oriented businesses.
The IDBZ has a staff housing/building loan facility in line with the Bank policy to all eligible staff members. As collateral, the housing loan agreement makes reference to a homeowner’s insurance and mortgage protection policy. Thus, the housing loan is subject to a mandatory Homeowner’s Insurance Cover which ensures that properties purchased by staff under this scheme are adequately insured. As such, the Bank seeks to procure the services of a reputable Insurance Company to provide Homeowners Insurance Policy Covers for bank financed mortgages.
